Communities in Bloom Committee: In 2002 the Village won 3 of 5 blooms in the Communities in Blooms & finished in second place in the 0 to 1000 category for the Province of Alberta. In 2003 we won 4 of 5 blooms and won first place in the same category . In 2004 we came in second; however in 2005 we regained our First Place status! In 2006 we won 5 of 5 blooms for another first place finish. 2007 saw us entering the national scene where we received 4 of 5 blooms which was not enough to place. Hats off to the Communities in Bloom Committee for all their hard work ! Residents should also give themselves a pat on the back for their efforts in making Arrowwood what it is today! Sharon Oakes is the Chairperson. Lions Club: Service club for adults. Supper meeting held first and third Thursday of the month( except July & August) in the Hall dinning room. Mountain standard time @6:30 PM. Daylight saving time @7:00 PM. Their annual Friendship Dinner (for men) is held each February. President Bud Cockwill. Arrowwood Restoration Society: Operates the Country Store Museum located on the corner of Railway Avenue & Centre Street. See notice in window of hours of operation. Craft Shop & ice cream are located inside the Museum. Contact Carol Steiner (Secretary) 403-534-3319 The Museum boasts a topographical model made by Kent Norton that depicts the area irrigation system from the Carseland Dam to Lake McGregor. This building was operated as general store until 1987 and contains the goods our grandparents bought years ago when they shopped. Visit the display of the former Doukhobor Colony; then visit their Cemetery, which was located just east of the village on Range Road 205 to Township Road 225, turn south.

Playground: Located beside the Community Centre. A new addition is the Mabel Beagle Memorial Gazebo, which is shown here. There is a playground located in the school yard too. Cemetery: Located 1 mile east & 1 mile south of the village. It is maintained by the Lions Club.
Garbage: Is to be taken to the green recycle building on Railway Avenue West inside the fenced enclosure (across from the elevators) on Tuesday 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM or 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Saturday & deposited in the dumpster. These are the ONLY times the recycle building and transfer truck will be accessible. Recycle bins are located in the green building for the disposal of appropriate goods. Please read the signs to make sure you are using the correct bin. The Mossleigh transfer station is open Wednesday 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM; Friday 9:00 AM to Noon and on Saturday 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Community Committees. Committees are set up to cater wedding showers, funerals etc. (not banquets!) Want to sign up to help on a committee or to help when you are available? Contact Karen Buijs at 403-534-3971. On the occasion of their marriages, showers are given for young people of our community. Watch for posters in the Co-op & Museum windows and in Arrowwood General Store.
RV PARK: Located on Railway Avenue at Centre Street. Fees are to be paid and placed in the box provided by the camp kitchen.
